Welcome to Health and Temperance Ministries:

Health and Temperance Ministries are an integral part of the mission of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (I Cor. 10:31). Jesus Christ, in the Bible, healed many people before communicating his message of everlasting life. Since the 1860’s, Health Ministries promote good health and the prevention of ill health to help achieve wholistic living. Our overall aim is to help men, women and children reach their full potential, mentally, spiritually and physically.
To reach full potential, health principles must be learned and practiced both individually and as a community.
The Adventist health message refers to the natural health laws and Bible-based principles of optimal well-being. Modern science continues to support recommendations in the health message to eat more natural, non-processed foods, be physically active, and maintain a well-balanced lifestyle. The natural laws are also known as NEWSTART: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sleep, Temperance, Air, Rest, and Trust in Divine Power.
